Daniel Kupšovský
Daniel Kupšovský graduated from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague majoring in Montage as well as Experimental Production. Following his studies he worked as television journalism, documentary and entertainment director. From 2013 to 2017 he worked in the UK as a promotional video producer and documentary filmmaker. He made his first audio documentary for Czech Radio during the Brexit referendum in June 2016. This was followed by another successful documentary My Private Russophobia, for which he won 3rd place in the Documentary category at the Prix Bohemia Radio competition in 2018. The documentary was also short-listed at the Prix Europa in 2018. His documentary Storm Tree came second at the Prix Bohemia Radio 2023. From 2020 to 2023 he headed the Creative Group of Documentary and Journalism. As a dramaturg, he has contributed to a number of award-winning audio documentaries and led the programme series Dokuseriál (Docuseries), Dokument Plus (Documentary Plus) and DokuVlna (DocuWave) on Czech Radio. In addition to radio documentaries, he is currently involved in television production and documentary film as well.
