Does the increasing competitiveness within the documentary film industry result in an increasing number of higher quality documentaries? Is it the right model of the documentary title market? Pitch as a format for presenting documentary projects has established itself as the only existing, relevant way for authors to present themselves and their project. But is it the only possible way to reach visibility and possible new partners in your project? Is there an alternative to the sometimes extremely stressful process in which, over the years, how you pitch seems to be more important than what you pitch? So is there a possibility of an environment for presenting projects in which the process will be reversed? In which the art of pitch is more important than the art of pitching. In a non-competitive atmosphere, without the stress of "winning", in a kind of slow pitch atmosphere?

ZagrebDox Pro is a five-day program that combines analysis of submitted projects, recommendations and suggestions for their further development. The program includes case studies, group and individual discussions with industry experts, master lectures, special film screenings and round tables. Lecturers, experts and guests of the ZagrebDox Pro program are some of the most important European authors, producers and presenters. The best project, by the jury's decision, will be provided with one-year online mentoring, while two projects, also by the jury's decision, will be given the opportunity to participate in the residential module of ZagrebDox Pro, in cooperation with the Rab Film Festival in August 2025.

This year's program, open to the public, offers master lectures, special film screenings and round tables. A special segment of the ZagrebDox PRO program is dedicated to artificial intelligence, the possibilities it provides and the non-negligible ethical aspects opened up by the use of these tools in the production of documentary content. Through discussions and workshops open to the public, questions relevant to the creators of that content, but also to those who watch it, will be considered.     

ZagrebDox Pro strives to create an opportunity and help participants:
- through a concentrated, dedicated analysis of projects submitted to this workshop, in collaboration with experienced professionals.
- in choosing project presentation/pitching tools suitable for the project itself, but also for the author team representing the project
- through Masterclass lectures and panels on the advantages and dangers of the tools offered by UI in the recent production of documentary films
- in networking
- in designing a promotional project as an important part of its distribution success

Following the intention of providing as many possibilities as possible for selected projects to participate in workshops, festivals and industry events, ZagrebDox continues to achieve collaborations with other organizations in the world of documentaries. This year’s edition is organized in collaboration with Aljazeera and AJB DOC Film Festival, Sarajevo, as well as in partnership with Restart and Dokukino KIC.

ZagrebDox PRO takes place free of charge and is supported by the City of Zagreb, Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Croatian Film Directors’ Guild and Kultura nova Foundation.
