Vanja Jambrović

Vanja Jambrović holds a degree in Comparative Literature and Philosophy from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, and a degree in Production from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. She is one of the founders of the organization Restart, which operates across the entire documentary film field, including production, education, distribution, and cinema management. The films she has produced have been shortlisted three times for the European Film Awards (Fiume o morte!, 2026; Valerija, 2024; and Srbenka, 2019), with Fiume o morte! winning Best European Documentary Film at the awards ceremony in January 2026. The same film also received the Tiger Award and the FIPRESCI Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Other major recognitions include three Heart of Sarajevo awards for Best Documentary Film (Valerija, 2024; Museum of the Revolution, 2022; Srbenka, 2018) and the Doc Alliance Award for Srbenka. Her projects have been supported by various international institutions, including the Sundance Institute. She is employed at the Academy of Dramatic Art and has participated as a mentor in international workshops including Documentary Campus Masterschool, Eurodoc, Ex Oriente, BDC Discoveries, Eurodoc, and Circle Women Doc Accelerator.
