21st ZagrebDox in search of documentaries!

In recent years, the number of submitted films has been growing regularly. In 2023, almost 1,500 documentaries were submitted to ZagrebDox, and for this year's edition, slightly more than 1,700. What will the new call for applications bring to one of the world's most important documentary film festivals? The answer will follow in the first months of 2025, when the 21st ZagrebDox will be announced!

Directors, producers, distributors and other film authorities are hereby invited to submit documentary films for the 21st ZagrebDox - International Documentary Film Festival, taking place in Zagreb from March 30 to April 6, 2025.

Submissions can only be made through FilmFreeway Platform.

Festival program consists of a competition program, an official program, retrospective programs and special thematic programs. The Competition Program consists of International Competition and Regional Competition. The International Competition includes films from all over the world, except those competing in the Regional Competition.

Eligible to compete in the Regional Competition are the films produced or co-produced in one of the following countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia and Romania.

Only films released after January 1 of the previous year (2024) can participate in the competition program. Participation in the competition section of ZagrebDox requires a first screening in Croatia (the screening must be a Croatian premiere).

The deadline for submissions is December 2, 2024 for films released after January 2024.
