Young people aged between 15 and 22 from different backgrounds are auditioning for the role of young Nicolae Ceausescu in the mid-1930s, while trying to find the drive behind his actions. The teenagers assume poses from archive photos, fictionalize a series of historical documents and act upon one another. They relate to the fictional character Nicolae without any preconceived ideas, appropriating his traits in terms of their own interests and the clichés of commercial cinema. The result is a portrait of this young generation, and a glimpse of Romania's Communist leader’s legacy, now, when social media is motivated by the same 'desire to be great’ as it was in the 1930s.
