The film traces the changing dynamics and the reversal of roles in a family that feels obligated to try to afford its eldest member a dignified end, even when she refuses it. Wait for Me is a story about the relationship between a mother and daughter late in their lives and permanently divided by the physical border created in the Yugoslav Wars and their relationship feelings towards the inevitability of one of them dying.     


Damir Markovina

Damir Markovina was born in 1973 in Belgrade. He graduated in acting at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb in 2000. He has been a member of the Drama ensemble of the National Theatre (ADU) in Zagreb since 2002. He is doing an MA in documentary filmmaking at the department of Film and TV Directing, also at ADU, since 2018. He has worked on several TV series and films as actor, associate producer and screenwriter. He wrote the script for short film Rom/Kom (2011) and co-produced the award-winning TV series and film, You Carry Me (2015). He is the author of plays Tukolovka and Paščad, for the latter awarded the Ministry of Culture Marin Držić Award for best new drama in 2016. His short documentary The Shift (2019) screened in the student film competition at the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2019. He is a member of the Film Artists’ Association of Croatia and the Croatian Screenwriters and Playwrights Guild.
