This observational documentary takes us to the usually hidden, and for most, uncomfortable world of people who are psychologically different, easily discarded by society and branded as patients.

Mladen and Maja enter maturity, shackled by demons from the past and handfuls of pills the psychiatrists keep offering up instead of conversation. The society responded to the heavy baggage of their dysfunctional family past with cold-hearted hypocrisy, turning them over to the healthcare system, which then turned them into addicts. With subtle vitality, Days of Madness records their solitary daily life, trapped in a vicious circle of rejection and guilt, as well as their attempts to find their place in the society that rejected them.
