This piece is a visual illustration of what hermeneutics is. The cunning use of WWII footage it makes you believe that you are watching a proper war film. When you already expect the usual archive movie routine – everything changes and you find yourself watching a completely different film.
Alexei Dmitriev was born in Russia in 1986. He used to teach English and literature, and now he works as a visual artist, curator and programmer. He made short film Abstract? (2009) and Dubus (2005).
