The film shot in gonzo-style articles covers the organisation of nightlife in Russia. It speaks about alcohol and drug abuse, consumer psychology amongst youth and self-destruction as a subconscious choice of the perestroika generation. The film presents a brief report of the nightclub structure and shows the new subculture of club kids emerging from the infamous series of parties Loshadka.
Artemy Isaev graduated in production from the St. Petersburg University of Cinema & Television. He is the author of many short film scripts. He is also a lecturer at the Film School FilmKino. Masquerade is his debut film.
