Shepherds Carole and Pascal leave for their winter migration with three donkeys, four dogs and a flock of sheep: three months of braving cold and snow during which they will have to cover 600 kilometres in the Swiss-French region. At night, a tarpaulin and sheepskins serve as their only shelter. Leaving villas, train tracks and industrial zones behind, they traverse lands in complete metamorphosis, meeting peasant friends as well as new residents: ‘commuters’ from the country intent on urbanising. A contemporary adventure film that takes us back to our roots and poses questions about today’s society.
