A former World Champion in Latin American Dance iis about to make his final comeback as a professional dancer...

Slavik is a former World Champion in Latin American Dance. He is about to make his final comeback as a professional dancer with his partner and lover Anna. Slavik is addicted to the limelight and the dance. His body, however, is causing him aches and pains and his flaring temper puts his relationship with Anna at risk. Ballroom Dancer follows Slavik and Anna as they put everything on the line in their ultimate push for the throne one last time.


Andreas Koefoed

Andreas Koefoed graduate in documentary direction from the National Film School of Denmark and in sociology from Copenhagen University. Worked as director, cinematographer and editor of documentary films. Koefoed's films have won him awards at numerous festivals, including Tribeca, Silverdocs, Full Frame, Sheffield Doc/Fest and CPH:DOX. Koefoed made his first feature-length documentary Ballroom Dancer (screened at 2012 ZagrebDox) in co-direction with Christian Bonke.

Christian Bonke

Christian Bonke was born in 1973, Denmark. A graduate of the National Film School of Denmark, 2005, and in multimedia design, 1994. Films include ‘Between Peaks’ (2004), ‘First Love’ (2007), and ‘Real Estate’ (2008). ‘Ballroom Dancer’, selected for IDFA’s First Appearance Competition, is Bonke’s first feature-length documentary and co-directed with Andreas Koefoed.
